Peter Callesen is a Danish author and artist. Callesen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1967. He is famous for working with paper. He doesn't draw or color on them, he cuts, folds and actually sculpts the paper into 3-D pieces. In many of his pieces he uses the negative and positive space to tell a story about his project. However, he doesn't just randomly cut how he feels, he creates specific paper cut work from A4 paper in large scale installations. Most of his pieces are dark, for example a flower dying or an angel locked in a birdcage. I really like this artist, because of the things he makes with something that we use everyday. He cuts and folds to tell a story and it really makes me realize how the simplest things can turn into beautiful pieces. Peter is currently represented by the Galeria Valle Orti in Spain.
