This piece falls under clay relief. From doing this particular project I learned many different things including the different materials and technique you can use with clay. For example, I learned that you use a different kind of exacto knife and there many materials used to shave off, cut, or smooth out the clay. I also learned that there are different techniques to taking out the air bubbles, like throwing it on the ground a few times. Also, if you want to keep your piece moist for the next time that you use it, you can spray a little bit of water to preserve a bit of the softness for the next day. I didn't think this was my best work, but I thought the glaze itself was successful. For clay you can paint it with watercolor, acrylic, or glaze. I used glaze on mine and I really liked how the colors came out on mine. If I could re-do this project I would try and make it more neat and clearly show the details.
